She obtained her MS in library and information science from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2004.

Chris Brown
Christopher C. Brown, Associate Professor, is Reference Technology Integration Librarian at the University of Denver, Penrose Library. He has also been Government Documents Coordinator at the University of Denver for the past 12 years. He recently spearheaded harvesting Hathi Trust records into the library's next-generation catalog with a view to creating enhanced access to online government publications. He often consults with libraries concerning retooling of depository libraries for the digital age, implementation of clickthrough technologies, and technology solutions for adding online content to the online catalog.
Laurie Canepa
Laurie Canepa is Director of Public Services at the New Mexico State Library. She served as Regional Federal Document Librarian from 1990 to 2006, before moving into her current position. Budget cuts have resulted in a long-term vacancy in the Federal Document Librarian position, so Laurie continues to keep one foot in the world of federal information. Previous to her work at the New Mexico State Library, Laurie worked as a Law Librarian at Northwestern School of Law, in private law firms in Portland, Oregon, and in the Documents Division at the Marriott Library at the University of Utah. New Mexico State Library received the Federal Document Depository of the Year award in 2005 for some experimental outreach efforts, some of which will be discussed at this Conference.
Madeline Cohen
Madeline Cohen is the Circuit Librarian for U.S. Courts Library for the Tenth Circuit in Denver, CO. She received her B.A. in French and her M.A. in Library and Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Prior to her employment with the U.S. Courts Library, Madeline worked as a Reference Librarian with the Westminster Law Library at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, and as a Policy Associate with the National Conference of State Legislatures in Denver.
Mike Culbertson
Mr. Culbertson is an associate professor in the Libraries at Colorado State University. As Engineering Librarian he provides liaison services to the College of Engineering and several other academic departments. He has been active in the TRAIL Project since April 2008; currently he serves on the Steering Committee and the Collections Group.
Blake Edwards
Blake Edwards has worked for the U.S. Government Printing Office since 2003 and is currently a Program Planner in the Program Management Office for GPO’s Federal Digital System (FDsys). His areas of expertise include training, search, and user interfaces. Prior to working on the FDsys program, he procured printing on behalf of Federal agencies in GPO’s Print Procurement division. He received a B.S. in Graphic Communication from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2003 and an M.A. in Educational Technology Leadership from George Washington University in 2006.
Janet Fisher
Janet Fisher is the Director of the Law and Research Library in the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records. She also serves as the regional depository librarian for Arizona, providing the people of Arizona with access to and information from a large collection of federal publications dating from 1895 and earlier, and coordinating and assisting federal depositories within the state. She is active in state and national library organizations and has focused her library work on government publications for most of her professional career.
Jennie Gerke
Jennie Gerke, Assistant Professor, is the Electronic Government Information Librarian at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She has worked at CU-Boulder for almost six years. While there she has worked on the integration of print and electronic collections and the services the library provides to their patrons (both with government and non-governmental resources). She earned her Masters of Library Science from Indiana University, Masters of Arts in English from Washington University in St. Louis, and Bachelor of Arts in English and Computational Science from Hollins University.
Valerie Glenn
Valerie Glenn is the Regional Depository Librarian at the University of Alabama, and is currently the Chair of the ASERL Collaborative Federal Depository Program Steering Committee. Prior to moving to Tuscaloosa, Ms. Glenn was a Government Documents Librarian at the University of North Texas, where she was involved with the scope, selection criteria and workflow decisions related to government documents collections added to the UNT Digital Library, and Government Documents/Reference Librarian at Samford University. Ms. Glenn holds a MSLS from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and a BA from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Mollie Gugler
Mollie is a Reference and Instructional Librarian at Yavapai College Library, Prescott, AZ. She has held numerous positions in her library career such as, Circulation Supervisor, Library Specialist, College Archivist and since 1990 the Depository Coordinator at Yavapai College Library. Recently she has been involved in developing an online library course and digitizing Yavapai College’s Archives collection.

Kate Holvoet
Kate Holvoet has worked at the University of Utah Marriott Library for over 10 years. Currently she is the Head of Online Services; previously she was the Head of Government Documents and Microforms, and before that she was the International Documents librarian. Kate received her M.A. in Library Science from the University of Iowa in 1998 and her B.A. in Studio Art from the same institution.
Sue Kendall
Susan Kendall, Librarian, is the Coordinator for Collection Development at San Jose State University, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library. She is also the Government Publications Coordinator as well as a liaison to the College of Education. Ms. Kendall currently serves as the secretary to ALA’s Government Documents Roundtable (GODORT). Her presentations and publications have focused on usage statistics and mobile technologies in libraries.
Katie Lage
Kathryn Lage is the Map Librarian and Acting Faculty Director of the Jerry Crail Johnson Earth Sciences and Map Library at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She holds a BA degree in American Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a Master of Library Science degree from San José State University in California. Kathryn's research interests include organization and access to digital geospatial data. She recently completed collaborative digital projects to provide online access to collections of historical aerial photographs of Colorado's Front Range and of Sanborn Fire Insurance maps of Colorado. She is active in the Western Association of Map Libraries and is a representative to the Cartographic Users Advisory Council, which works to enhance the distribution and knowledge of geospatial information produced by the U.S. government.
Amy Levine
Amy Levine is Head of Reference and Research for the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals Circuit Library. Ms. Levine earned her J.D.. from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota and her M.L.I.S. from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Before joining the US Courts Library in February 2010, Ms. Levine was Reference Librarian at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.
Lisa LaPlant
Lisa LaPlant has worked for the U.S. Government Printing Office since 2001 and is currently a Lead Program Planner in the Program Management Office, which is responsible for planning and implementing GPO’s Federal Digital System (FDsys). Her areas of expertise include search, user interfaces, and content authentication. Prior to working on the FDsys program, she worked on various aspects of the GPO Access website, including web design and outreach activities. She received a B.A. in Media Arts and Design from James Madison University in 2000.

James Mauldin
James Mauldin is Manager of the Office of Archival Management (OAM), Collection Management & Preservation with the U.S. Government Printing Office. The U.S Government Printing Office (GPO) provides publishing & dissemination services for the official & authentic government publications to Congress, Federal agencies, Federal depository libraries, & the American public. The Office of Archival Management is responsible the FDLP Electronic Collection of harvested content and providing permanent public access to federal government publication in both electronic and tangible format. Prior to this position, James was the Division Chief for the Depository Distribution Division and was responsible for the tangible distribution of government publications to the Federal Depository Library Program. Raised in Glenarden, Maryland, James now resides in Martinsburg, West Virginia. James has been active for nearly 20 years with the Glenarden Boys & Girls Club.
Jerry O'Donnell
Jerry O’Donnell is a de facto trainer of library staff in the six-state region on using every aspect of U.S. Census Bureau data. He is a manager of the Western Region’s 2010 Census efforts. Jerry has an easygoing and very effective teaching style and has expertise on all census, survey and estimate data products of the US Census Bureau. He has spoken at many past conferences in the region.
Camille O'Neill
Camille O’Neill is a Reference Librarian for Arizona Western College in Yuma, Arizona. She also coordinates the selective Federal Depository Library collection in Arizona Western College’s and NAU-Yuma’s joint-use Academic Library. Camille’s previous professional positions include Undergraduate Reference Services Librarian at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Librarian-Generalist at NAU-Yuma, and Library Instruction Librarian at the University of Arizona Library.
Pat Ragains
Patrick Ragains is Business and Government Information Librarian at the University of Nevada, Reno and Regional Federal Depository Librarian for Nevada. He has worked in government information-related positions in federal depository libraries since 1980.
Sandy Rizzo
Sandy Rizzo’s been a business librarian since 1997, a government information librarian since 2004 at the Main Branch of Mesa Public Library, and soon embarks on a new phase of her career at another of Mesa Public Library’s locations. She has a BA in Broadcasting Communications and minor in Women's Studies from Loyola University of Chicago with a previous career in radio/TV broadcasting (thus the passion for Marketing), and an MLS from the University of Arizona. She was on the planning committee for this conference and has loved every minute of it. No matter what technology brings (to the world and to this conference), at least it allows us to do THIS! Let’s hope it all works! She’ll co-present in the Marketing Our Collections and Services and Moving to a More Electronic sessions, and co-host the Thursday lunchtime Open Forum.
Gabriela Schneider
Gabriela Schneider is the Communications Director of the Sunlight Foundation. Prior to joining the Sunlight Foundation, she was the Media Relations Manager for the Council on Foundations, where she secured media coverage for the philanthropic sector. Previously, Gabriela organized grass roots campaigns for the Public Policy Office of the American Psychological Association and worked to protect children's online privacy as Senior Policy Analyst for the Center for Media Education. She earned her Masters of Arts in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and her Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Lehigh University.

Louise Treff-Gangler has been Government Publications Librarian at the Auraria Library since 1985.
Debra Van Tassel
Debra Van Tassel is the former Program Manager for Government Information in the 21st Century (GI21) – a 5-state education program designed to address identified issues related to the general lack of awareness of and skills needed to make effective use of government information resources as well as the perceived lack of confidence in the use of government resources. Funded by IMLS, the program targeted reference and public services librarians from 2006-2008. GI21 trainers from the 5 states presented 149 subject module sessions at 75 training events reaching over 900 librarians and library workers. Currently, Deb is head of the Item Conversion Unit of the Government Information Library staff at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Brad Vogus
Brad Vogus is the Head of Social Sciences and Government Information Services at Arizona State University. For over ten years he has been involved with government information, and he is a former chair of the Government Documents Roundtable of the Arizona Library Association. Brad earned his Masters of Information and Library Studies degree from the University of Michigan.
Lee Warthen
Lee Warthen, librarian and adjunct professor of law, is a 1984 graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, where he received a M.A. in 1983 and a M.L.S. in 1975. Before coming to the University of Utah in 1985, he worked at BYU and Washington and Lee University. He is the assistant director and head of collection building and maintenance at the S.J. Quinney Law Library where he coordinates maintenance of the building, furnishings, and book collections. He also works in collection development and reference. He is a member of the Utah State Bar.
